The Treme
So I am a big fan of Louisiana. Mainly New Orleans, because that’s where I spend most of my time when I visit the state. Yes I am a LSU Tiger fan for life, Geaux Tigers!
This street sign says it all to me. Treme. A culturally rich neighborhood, and also one of its oldest. The Treme is also known as the birthplace of jazz music. Yes, that jazz music. The music that when you hear it, you can’t help but tap your foot. Soon that tapping of your foot climbs up to your hips, which start moving. Before you realize it, the music has taken over your body, and you are now a dancing fool. I have joined so many second lines (street parades) in New Orleans.
If I wasn’t a tried and true Texan, I would live in New Orleans, dancing like there’s no tomorrow, photographing everything there is, and having beignets every other day.
