First off, yeah, that’s me in the suit. It’s a much cooler photo of me than one where I’m goofily smiling into the camera, with my, yup, you guessed it, camera in hand. Maybe one day I will have that cool hero shot of me, looking off into the distance with a cool backdrop like the Arizona desert behind me, but until then….

So my love of photography began when I was but a wee lad. No I don’t live in Ireland, but that’s my heritage, and I’m proud of it.

At about the age of seven I took an old cardboard shoebox, cut it up, taped it together to resemble my parents old Polaroid camera, you know, like the ones today but, well, older. Mine even had photos that I drew with markers that would come through the front slit I cut, to act just like that old Polaroid.

Now my photos, which you didn’t have to “shake like a polaroid picture”, would be a representation of what I thought was funny. You might someday be a goofy faced gorilla I drew, or maybe a robot. Man I wished I still had that camera.

I took photography in high school and college, nothing serious, just as an elective, but it brought me joy waiting to see what photos I got out of that old Pentax K-1000, and yes I wish I still had that camera as well.

All this to say, hi, and yes I still love photography, but now the camera is more expensive, but memory cards are much less expensive than film.

Oh, and if you were wondering, I am a wee bit of a space nerd.
