The Lifeguard Tower 29

Out of all the places near me, my favorite place to photograph is the beach. Im not the kind of guy who likes to bask in the sun, letting the rays darken my skin. Im Irish, I burn, not tan, but this place though, with the sun, the salty air, the sound of the waves crashing, is one of my happy places.

This photo, one of my favorites, is on the beach in Galveston, Texas. You have tower 29, where the lifeguards literally guard you from injury or death, but also in the photo is a place of joy and laughter. So, you have a place of fun and frivolity, the pier, and the seriousness of what goes on at the tower. To me, its just cool.
